Prof. dr. Frans de Roon

Frans de Roon earned his PhD from Tilburg University in 1997 on portfolio choice and asset pricing. His thesis was rewarded the SNS Bank best-thesis award. Currently, Frans de Roon is Director of the FinanceLab at TiasNimbas Business School. He is also the Academic Director of the Master in Finance and the Master of Business Valuation. At TiasNimbas, he is teaching many different courses in Finance, both for MBA students and executives. He holds a chair in Finance (Investments) at Tilburg University.

Frans de Roon is doing research in financial markets, with a special emphasis on portfolio problems, risk management, empirical finance, performance measurement, commodities, emerging markets and futures markets. He is publishing in various academic journals, such as the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Empirical Finance, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and Management Science. He is member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of International Money and Finance.

Apart from his teaching and research experience, he has broad experience in applied research projects and consultancy, in particular on Asset & Liability Management, Investments and Valuation. He is member of the supervisory boards of Kardan Financial Services and of First Liability Matching.

Ruud Gilissen Msc

An international oriented investment management professional with a broad base experience encompassing multi asset front-office, CFO/COO, operations and transformation programme director experience.

Graduated from the University of Tilburg in 1985 and started his career at APG Asset Management. Lead several Greenfield activities including the start-up of the international equity investments, the transformation of the European fixed-income trading desk and the start-up of APG's New York office. Oversaw mergers of APG with the NIB Capital Management fixed income team and the Cordares Investment Management operations team and managed the global transformation programme of APG Asset Management.

In 2014 he started his own company, Ruud Gilissen Interim Management and Consultancy. Leveraged talents and expertise to successfully lead and facilitate a transformation program for a regional management team of one of the top three cleaning companies in the Netherlands. Provided leadership as an External Advisor and Programme Manager in a transformation programme for one of the oldest independent private banks in the Netherlands.

Ruud's passion for coaching and mentoring in diverse environment explains why he has been a long-time member of the advisory board of AIESEC Maastricht and is an active member of the advisory board of the Foundation CIP.

Rob Verheul Msc CIP

Rob Verheul is an active member of the financial industry since graduation from Maastricht University (Business Economics) in 1996. He wrote a thesis on the application of Technical Analyses in the Netherlands, which started his career in the industry. He is experienced in both the retail banking industry as well as Asset Management.

Following interesting jobs at Dow Jones and Screen Consultants, Rob is employed by SNS Reaal since 2002 in several different positions. He has been responsible for the retail securities business of SNS Bank (back office, mid office and product management) as well as SNS Fundcoach. In his responsibility of Program director Securities, he managed to successfully implement the largest outsourcing of securities processing in the Netherlands.

Rob is currently COO / Statutory Director of ACTIAM (previous SNS Asset Management). ACTIAM is the responsible investor with managed assets amounting to 44,2 billion (at year-end 2013). With around 115 employees they manage assets on behalf of REAAL, Zwitserleven, ASN Bank, ASN Beleggingsfondsen Beheer (investment funds management) (ABB), SNS Beleggingsfondsen Beheer (SBB) and the Zwitserleven Beleggingsfondsen. For several years ACTIAM has also provided sound asset management for a range of external clients and for participants in ACTIAM's own funds.

Mark Lamers CIP

Mark is the founder of the CIP program. He has broad experience in the financial world with a background in finance, IT and sales. As Financial Consultant and Sales Director he worked for various internationally operating software companies, market data companies, banks, asset managers, brokers and (hedge) funds. He is an innovative result driven entrepreneur and people manager with cross-functional expertise in education, Fin&Tech. He had the privilege in succesfully setting up, buying, building and selling various technology and finance green field companies. Next to this he play(ed) various senior management, sales and consulting roles in well-established FinTech and Finance companies.  

With in-depth knowledge of the business and technology he is able to work on and succesfully implement (innovative) business plans and projects. His background in education (trainer) and people development helps to motivate people and succesfully transfer and retain knowledge in teams that are critical for success.
